Is your Value Proposition a cut-above? |
Value PropositionA Clear Value Proposition is an absolute imperative for website marketers. When I talk to people about their web marketing, I am often stunned by the passion they feel for their businesses e.g. their competitive advantages, the quality of their products, the confidence they have in their services. Yet so many websites I visit need ‘figuring out’. Who or what are these people? What are they offering me and why should I consider doing business with them? You have a very narrow window of time to address these questions before your visitor hits the Back button and disappears – experts estimate as little as 3 to 5 seconds. Your Home or Landing Page must provide your visitor with: 1. An obvious summary of who you are and what you are. 2. A distinctive and compelling reason why they should click into your websiteThis is not a place for endless waffle — remember that 5 second window! Example Case: Rapid Results is New Zealand-based company specialising in call centre training. They had always guaranteed an 'ROI' result, agreed on signing a training contract. That was a standard part of the deal. On the rare occasions they didn’t meet it, they simply repeated their proven training all over again at no additional cost to their client. So effectively, they removed the risk of their customers not gaining a satisfactory result from their training expenditure — a 100%, guilt-edged guarantee. Yet they’d never communicated that amazingly unique benefit on their Home Page! That's about to change.
